The community is invited to the 2nd Annual “Bill’s Rock ‘Em Races” at Lake Blue Streak Stadium this Sunday, September 21 at 6pm. Originally initiated by Lake High School National Honor Society student Angela Cuthbert in 2013, Bill’s Rock ‘Em Races is back for a second year under the direction of Holly Keller and is held in honor of Bill, a resident at Hartville Meadows.
Bill had Downs’ Syndrome and had a life-long dream of competing in the Special Olympics races, but the dots never connected for him until Lake NHS students created an event for Hartville Meadows & GentleBrook residents and clients to have their own track meet at Lake High School’s stadium.
Last year the community brought their cow bells, cheers and for me personally, tears of joy to cheer on this amazing group of individuals.
