Chief David Oliver of the Brimfield Police Department is known around the globe for his no-nonsense crime-busting, straight-shooting opinions, and offbeat humor, and now you’ll have a chance to meet him in person on Tuesday, February 25 from 5:30-6:30pm. Chief Oliver will be the Featured Speaker at the Lake Township Chamber of Commerce Annual Service & Leadership Awards Dinner in the East Room of the Hartville Kitchen.
Book signing and Meet & Greet will be held in the lobby from 5:30-6:30pm. The public is invited to the Chamber Awards Dinner from 6:30-8:00 PM, wherein 6 community leaders will be recognized for their contributions to the Lake Township & Stark County community. The dinner/speaker portion of the event requires a ticket. Reservations must be made by 2/19/14 at www.lakechamber.com/25years. For the list of honorees, click HERE.
Oliver’s book, “No Mopes Allowed” collects the best of the chief’s politically incorrect essays, delightfully sarcastic letters to criminals, humorous crime reports, inspirational quotes, and more from Brimfield, Ohio . . . where kids caught bicycling safely are issued tickets—for free ice cream. The Chief’s stories have delighted readers from as far away as Hong Kong and in every U.S. state.
Proceeds from Oliver’s book are directed to The Chief Oliver Foundation, dedicated to helping child survivors of sexual assault heal as well as aiding community children’s programs.
