In Your Dreams, Hartville Parks

In Your Dreams, Hartville Parks

Imagine acres filled with woods interrupted by miles of trails for the local adventurist and outdoor fanatic. A cardinal sings overhead and a family is picnicking near a field of flowers bursting with the colors of summer. Today the land is ready for discovery, this weekend it host’s a summer wedding. Just minutes away, runners find a paved trail behind an all-American football stadium. A few miles from here, summertime enthusiasts cool off in a swimming pool and indulge in homemade ice cream. Picture now an open land, not far from the swimming pool, with some neighbors stationed at a horseshoe pit, and a large pavilion with a deck overlooking acres of trees where a mother and son prepare for his graduation party. If your imagination ventured to a neighboring community, you’d find friends playing basketball under the summer sun, and children bouncing through a playground.

Now open your eyes. Alas, it is all right here! If you call Lake township home, the map you just imagined may have seemed all too familiar. Our community contains five beautiful parks crying out for summer fun.

Unbeknownst to some, Quail Hollow State Park withholds a world of discovery. Administered by the Quail HollowOhio Department of Natural Resources, this Hartville gem is worthy of multiple visits. The park holds interpretive nature trails and helps preserve Ohio’s rich cultural and natural history.  You might go for a summer night’s walk or afternoon picnic in this picturesque park.

Located behind the Lake High School football stadium, the Lake Township Community Park contains picnic tables, a playground, and a paved .56-mile trail, also known as the “Green Mile.” If you want to put in a quick outdoor workout or spend some time at a quaint playground, this park is just the place! The Uniontown Police patrol the Lake Township Community Park, keeping it safe.

Make sure to stop when you pass the Yogi Bear sign at Clearwater Park. Clearwater is the one-stop shop of parks with it’s swimming pool, basketball Clearwaterpark1courts, campgrounds, picnic areas, and pavilion. The homemade ice cream and root beer is arguably the best part of this stop though.

You don’t feel like you’re a mere few hundred feet away from Cleveland Avenue while at Uniontown Parkthe beautiful Uniontown Community Park.  Supported by the Uniontown Lions Club, the park’s 25 acres has horseshoe pits, a playground, and outdoors picnic areas. The large enclosed pavilion is great for parties and receptions and is available by reservation through the Uniontown Lions Club.

Northwest of the Greentown Square, another recreational park lays, the Greentown Community Park. Here you are sure to find active entertainment at the park’s playground, basketball courts, baseball fields, tennis court, and horseshoe pit.

Memorial Park is run by the Village of Hartville. It’s a great kids’ park and has rentable indoor and outdoor pavilions. Read more here: Family Fun at Hartville Memorial Park.

It’s hard to believe all of this is found in the seemingly small township of Lake. It seems, though, that our imaginations lead us exactly to here.
