Discover: 6 Things to Do with Kids in Hartville

Are you and your kids ready for summer?
While there may be changes to annual events and camps our Hartville area businesses and organizations are working hard to create experiences that are safe and fun. Here’s a look at what is in the works:

1) Equestrian & Art Programs

Pegasus Farm offers a variety of summer programs such as Hands on Horses and Art. These programs take place weekly and are open to children of all abilities. Visit their website for a list of programs, costs, and more information. www.PegasusFarm.org. View summer programs under the event tab. Call Tammi to register, 330-935-2300 ext. 104.

2) Camp & Play at Jellystone Park

Akron-Canton Jellystone Park
Camping, swimming, mini-golf, ice cream and more are back just in time for summer. Get the scoop on seasonal and overnight camping and day passes at akroncantonjellystone.com. Two cabins have been added this season, bringing the total to 10!

3) Walk or Ride our Trails

Stark Parks operates 2 locations in Hartville/Lake Township – Quail Hollow Park and Fichtner Park, plus Walborn Reservoir is nearby.

4) Go on an Ice Cream run

Pick one or make it a mission to try them all this summer!

  • Ice cream at Hartville Chocolate Factory is made at Smith Dairy in Orville, Ohio. Stop by their downtown location for a cool treat in an old fashioned candy shop.
  • Root beer floats are available at the Country Store at Pegasus Farm
  • Try a milkshake, float, or ice cream after a hot day exploring Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market. You’ll find them at The Coffee Mill in the food court.
  • Homemade root beer and ice cream are a local and visitor favorite at Jellystone Park. No camping or day pass needed. You’ll see specially marked parking spots for ice cream right by the pool!

5) Surprise Them with a New Toy

Many of our local shops carry children’s items.

  • Check out The Children’s Shop at Hartville Kitchen for an amazing selection of creative books and games.
  • Two E’s in a Pod is a children’s resale shop with a fun selection of toys, outdoor play equipment, and swim and athletic wear.
