Brad will speak about Ohio’s Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks and the September 2023 inscription of these wonders of monumental landscape architecture constructed 2,000 years ago by Native Americans to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The eight locations of the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks comprise Ohio’s first and only UNESCO World Heritage Site and bear a rich testimony to the uncommon genius of the ancient American Indians who built them and the outstanding universal value of both their designs and continued preservation.
