This weekend, all across Hartville and Lake Township, people have the great opportunity to engage themselves in their community while being physically active and having fun.
On Saturday, June 11th, the Lake Township Fish will be holding the annual Lake Fish 5K Run/Walk at the Lake High School Stadium. The free Kids Fun Run will be the first event, beginning at 8a.m., followed by the 5K run at 8:30 a.m., then the 5K walk, lastly followed by the 5K “fun” walk (open to all ages). The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the food pantry and to provide emergency financial assistance to people in need within the Lake Township area. Participating in this event will be both fun and rewarding for all involved!
There will be a Community Bike Ride at The Front Porch Cafe this Sunday, June 12, at 1p.m. The bike ride will adventure through Hartville and Marlboro Township. This event will support GentleBrook’s Beyond the Divide Campaign, which focuses on the health and wellness enhancements at the Hartville and West Lafayette facilities. All proceeds go to the Beyond the Divide Campaign.
The Front Porch Café will be hosting the Bicentennial Celebration on the Patio this Sunday, June 12th, from 2p.m.-6p.m. After an afternoon of biking, you can sit back and relax with friends and neighbors of the community, and enjoy burgers and fresh cut fries. This event is in celebration of Lake Township’s 200-year anniversary. Come and mingle with your friends and celebrate the greatness that is Lake Township!
Uniontown Community Park is always a fantastic place to spend an afternoon. This park has much to offer including a pond to fish in, a volleyball court, a horseshoe pit, a playground, and a half-mile walking path! What a great afternoon could be spent picnicking at the park with friends and using all the amenities that the Uniontown Community Park has to offer! Challenge yourself to a longer hike at one of our other local parks.
