Spring is in the air and the daffodils are blooming, birds are singing. This is my favorite season as everything is becoming new again and all the beautiful greens popping up as the trees comes alive with color. I love sitting on the deck and enjoy watching nature at its best.
Duke and Duchess, our two mute swans have built their nest and are careful not to let other waterfowl on the lake. They don’t mind the mallards, but when the Canada geese come …. Oh boy, Duke chases them off right away.
Well, the other day two trumpet swans landed in the lake, and Duke was working hard to make them leave. It took a while, but he managed to get them out of the water and on dry land. Then chased them with his determined look and finally won. They flew off to find another lake. It is really a treat to watch all that happens as spring arrives.
